An Agent-based Model For Simulating Collective Efficacy

چکیده
Agent-based modeling and simulation of collective efficacy are useful to understand and study the relationship between community-related problems and individuals’ cognitive process. This paper presents a design of collective efficacy simulation using an agent-based model. We integrate collective efficacy into the framework of Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and show how collective efficacy is updated based on individual agents’ cognitive processes in response to occurrences of community-level events. Experiment results are provided to demonstrate the agent model and to show the spatial patterns of collective efficacy emerging at the community level.

Spatio-temporal agent based simulation of COVID-19 disease and investigating the effect of vaccination (case study: Urmia)
Proper management of epidemic diseases such as Covid-19 is very important because of its effects on the economy, culture and society of nations. By applying various control strategies such as closing schools, restricting night traffic and mass vaccination program, the spread of this disease has been somewhat controlled but not completely stopped. The main goal of this research is to provide a f...

Community collective efficacy is an important concept in studying various community problems and in developing community well-beings. While existing research on collective efficacy mainly focuses on building analytical or statistical models from informant survey data, this paper develops a complexity science-informed agent-based model to study the dynamic process of collective efficacy formatio...
متن کاملAn Investigation of Collective Teacher Efficacy and Teacher Self-Efficacy Subscales in the EFL Context of Iran
The concept of teacher efficacy has received significant attention in educational contexts in the recent years and has been empirically probed at 2 levels: individual teacher efficacy and collective teacher efficacy. Having their origins in the social cognitive theory, teacher and collective efficacy perceptions are quite distinct constructs, each affecting educational decisions and student ach...
متن کاملComputational Analysis of Collective Behaviors via Agent-Based Modeling
Agent-based modeling (ABM) is a common computational analysis tool to study system dynamics. In the framework of ABM, the system consists of multiple autonomous and interacting agents. We can explore emergent collective patterns by simulating the individual operations and interactions between agents. As a case study, we present an experiment using an agent-based model to study how competition f...
متن کاملJim Doran: Simulating Collective Misbelief
It appears that what the agents in a multiple agent system believe is typically partial, often wrong and often inconsistent, but that this may not be damaging to the system as a whole. Beliefs which are demonstrably wrong I call misbeliefs. Experiments are reported which have been designed to investigate the phenomenon of collective misbelief in artificial societies, and it is suggested that th...
